Vision for Equality thanks Governor Tom Corbett and Secretary of Public Welfare Gary D. Alexander for their efforts to increase funding in the 2012/13 budget to help individuals with intellectual disabilities waiting to receive community-based services. More than 1,100 individuals will receive assistance through this funding.

"Today is about honoring a debt; a debt earned in blood and sacrifice," Corbett said. "These bills are various in their goals. But they share the single purpose of repaying part of the debt we owe to those who have guarded our freedom and place their very lives between us and our enemies.''

"We are fortunate to have emergency medical services resources available to help a neighboring state that has experienced such devastating outcomes from Hurricane Sandy," Corbett said. "Their goal is to assist those in need, while ensuring we are still able to operate safely in Pennsylvania."
