Governor Corbett Joins State Police Commissioner and Lt. Col. Oliver North in Ceremony Honoring Troopers' Military Service
 
The ceremony, the first of its kind in Pennsylvania, honored more than 300 members of the State Police who have also served in the U.S. Armed Forces since the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Only Days Remain to "Beat the Tuition Rate Increase" with PA 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan
 
With tuition increases at colleges and universities across the state, credit rates for the Pennsylvania 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan (GSP) will increase September 1, which State Treasurer Rob McCord said today means only a few days remain for those who want to get the most "bang for their buck" when saving for higher education.

Governor Tom Corbett Tours Northeastern Pennsylvania to See Wake of Hurricane Irene
 
Governor Tom Corbett today toured several areas of northeastern Pennsylvania that were impacted by Hurricane Irene. From the air, he viewed the town of Forkston, Wyoming County, which was evacuated as a result of flooding. He also flew over Mehoopany Creek.

Governor Tom Corbett today ceremonially signed House Bill 463 at Country Meadows Retirement Community in Hershey. The new law ensures thousands of older Pennsylvanians enrolled in the PACE and PACENET program will not lose their coverage as the result of a small increase in their Social Security benefits.
